Then there was the buzzer-beater at Kasabuski Arena in Saugus, where top-ranked Malden Catholic (3-1-1) got a goal from freshman Ara Nazarian with 0.2 seconds left in overtime to pull out an amazing 4-3 victory against No. 4 St. Mary’s (5-1-1) in the Kasabuski Holiday Classic Div. 1 final. The game counts as a 3-3 tie for MIAA purposes, after Bobby Mullins’ power play goal with five minutes left in the third tied it for the Spartans.
