Feb rankings

Boys hockey “Super Eight” rankings

DIVISION 1
1. MALDEN CATHOLIC (8-1-2) – Guess we know why Jerry York was spotted at Wednesday night’s game against BC High.
2. ST. MARY’S (11-1-2) – Not going to bump the Spartans down because of a road tie in the league, especially since they still have that big December win against …
3. HINGHAM (11-2-0) – But the Harbormen’s nine-game win streak has them poised to move even higher if either Nos. 1 or 2 slip up. A key matchup looms Saturday at Springfield Cathedral.
4. ST. JOHN’S PREP (9-4-0) – Keep hearing about some “big game” coming up this week. They must be talking about the Eagles’ trip to Malden on Tuesday.
5. BC HIGH (7-3-2) – As far as 1-1-1 weeks go, that was a pretty good one for the boys from Morrissey Blvd.
6. BURLINGTON (9-1-2) – Normally we wouldn’t be looking at a matchup for the Red Devils at Melrose (Saturday), but there is that nasty “1” in the loss column.
The wild cards
7. Needham (11-2-0); 8. Springfield Cathedral (7-3-3); 9. Central Catholic (7-2-3); 10. Westford Academy (8-2-2).
